Fantasy Flowers

I am taking Donna Downey's Create Canvas class and for May she did a beautiful canvas that spoke to me and I tried to create one too. First I covered the canvas with black gesso. Most of it is done with finger painting. I wish I could make the daisylike flowers better. I would like the petals to be thinner. My fingers must be really thick. First I made the flowers and then colored in the background just like she did. Those Golden fluid acrylic colors mixed with some gesso are great.
I don't know how this new blogger works. So I am just adding the pictures. I love the new Tim Holtz limited release colors and now they even come with the re-inkers. I created a set of three. On the first one I finger painted some of the flowers having mixed the ink with modeling paste and scribbled the outlines with the Scarlet Lime pen. On the second one I again mixed modeling paste with the re-inkers and used a stencil to add the shapes and did some stamping. For the third one I glued down some dried leaves from my birthday bouquet and again did some stamping.

White Flowers

I loved the technique of coloring tissue paper and creating flowers with it. I had to do another project. This time I used a linen panel. I love the soft texture of it.

Echinacea

This is my take on some echinacea flowers. I painted tissue paper with red acrylic paint and cut out petals. I also stamped tissue paper with large letters and cut them into shapes, creating vases. I glued everything down with Mod Podge and scribbled outlines with a scarlet lime pen. The leaves are colored with Gelato. I did some faint stamping and used a stencil for the dots. I made this a while back but I believe it was another creation of Junelle Jacobsen's.

The old school house

Junelle Hallstrom Jacobsen did some of her art on canvas with black gesso and I really liked it. So I had to try it too and this is what I came up with.

Meet me at the fence

Here is a little something I made for my granddaughters. I am just having fun with my Golden Fluid Acrylics
